New in: my Birch Moisturiser

On a Sunday morning, while I was doing some shopping at the Farmers market, I met a lovely woman called Lisette, selling birch tree products, from birch water to beauty products, everything homemade.

I heard about birch before and saw all those bottles of birch water in some grocery stores but did not really know what it was.

There’re quite a lot of birch trees in England, the woman I met has got a property in UK with thousands of birch trees from which she creates her lovely products. I was in awe in front of her products and wanted to share this with you guys…

Birch tree; what’s that?

To make it simple it is a tree that belongs to the oak/beech family, mostly founded in temperate climates such as in North America, Europe and Asia. They are used for commercial purposes (furnitures, paper etc) and for medicine purpose. The Birch Tree contains strong properties (anti-inflammatory, diuretic, astringent…) that help to fight health problems. The sap is also used to make syrup and contains lots of minerals (potassium, calcium, zinc, magnesium…) and vitamins (mainly B and C).

Birch Oil – Primary benefits

  • Detoxifier and depurative: helps to remove toxins;
  • Antiseptic and disinfectant: protects the skin from fungal and bacterial infections;
  • Germicide: cures skin infections and diseases (eczema etc)
  • Analgesic and antispasmodic: reduce muscles pains and cramps
  • Stimulant: stimulates blood circulation and nervous system
  • Gives feelings of strength, vitality and warmth

Priestlands Birch Moisturizer

 The moisturizer created by Lisette is a combination of avocado (monounsaturated fatty acidsmonounsaturated fatty acids (rich in monounsaturated fatty acids), argan (antioxidant, vitamin E), safflower thistle  (rich in omega 6-fatty acids) and birch oil. When each oil has got already a numerous amount of benefits..  Let’s imagine when all of those are combined! Plus, this cream is handmade and completely natural; you can’t treat your skin better 🙂 Lisette creates other products, which you can check here.

Personally, I really love the texture – it feels like a gel, very comfortable and not greasy at all! I put it in the morning, after applying a serum. I feel that my skin is fully nourished 🙂

Have you ever tried a product containing birch?

I’ve read that birch water contains 17 amino acids and antioxidants, hydrates faster, helps weight loss, reduces cellulite, eliminates toxins and improves skin elasticity and tone!

Hope you guys enjoyed this article – all feedbacks are welcome !
